The week in Twitter 2009-02-15
- Spending the day discharging my various ‘Papa, fix it with tape!’-related duties. #
- Turns out that hurling the “universal” remote to the floor in a rage is unlikely to correct the shortcoming in its universality. #
- Rockwell-scale-defyingly hard new orthopedic mattress = next best thing to a spine transplant. Now if only the boys would let us sleep on it #
- Hoping, really and truly deeply hoping, the $40 part I just ordered will make buying a new computer unnecessary. #
- Early morning, out-of-season Grinch viewing at request of flu-y kid. Soon-to-be-flu-y little brother enjoying it too. Candy cane nostalgia. #
- @erikras: so, you’re not taking your own passport photos at home, where you have a modicum of control over whether you look terminally ill? in reply to erikras #
- Watching my boys totally rock out to William Shatner’s masterful reinterpretation of Pulp’s ‘Common People’. All 3 are magnificent dorks. #
- Had been deeply dreading tonight’s parent-teacher conferences, but my Frank Costanza approach precluded dissent and thoroughly paid off. #

1)What sort of future do these boys have if they are being compared to WIlliam Shatner while they are still in single digit ages???
Although, that being said, I can totally see Shatner in an I Lou Bluegras, You Bet Yer Ass t- shirt…
2) Re: candycanes- at midnight on Valentines Day the Easter candy started appearing on store shelves. A. and her friends are All Ironic in that they buy candy at half off on the day after the holiday. ESPECIALLY Valentine candy, which, when bought for oneself at 50% off is the Mark of Bored Adulthood.
