The week in Twitter 2009-01-11
- @erikras: now just go outside and light a dumpster on fire for a truly authentic Balkan experience. Also: warmth. in reply to erikras #
- Thanks to Old Bay Seasoning’s pictographic tin and our increasing use of it as a table-top condiment, Adam now refers to it as ‘crab salt’. #
- Magda keeps going on about how she needs mukluks, & while the weather supports her cause, deep down I think she just likes saying ‘mukluks’. #
- Two words: pickled + okra. #
- Seriously, Sofia? Again with the relentless snowing? This could get old really fast. #
- Out of fuel. Bulgaria, I mean. #
- It’s frickin’ freezing in here, Mr. Bigglesworth. #
- I ought to know by now that if incoming Twitter goes strangely quiet for a few hours it means I’m missing a keynote & resulting fail-whale. #
- @erikras: possibly, but I doubt it. Exposure to plummeting cartoon anvil is limited, more known via Richard Scarry. Also a pretty aural kid. in reply to erikras #
- Adam’s powers of absorption/recall phenomenal, if not always accurate. Adamant that blacksmith shapes iron on something called an ‘elephant’ #
- @jagosaurus: oh god, you didn’t? in reply to jagosaurus #

I am curious to see if these digests posts are deemed useful after you’ve run them for a bit.
I missed the “crab salt” one. It’s a good name.
Nice that the plugin is smart enough to remove the ones it posted (i.e. the ones that fit the pattern “New blog post: *”).

I tend to think they will be, as Twitter these days is my main form of record-keeping, so mashing them together and preserving them here seems like an okay idea; it also keeps non-Twitter-users in the loop without the annoyance of making each twit its own post.
I am never going to say the words “Old Bay” again.
Actually the plug-in is not that smart. I went back and deleted most of the twit-posts that went up over Christmas and turned off the “create a post from each tweet” option. The weekly digest seems like a decent compromise. I am prepared to revise my opinion on this, however. It’s also easy enough to turn the plug-in and its various features off/on that maybe I’ll make this digest post a random occasional thing if its usefulness diminishes.

Old Bay? Isn’t that aftershave? Joke.
Next you’ll be talking about Spice Rum.Mmmm, spice rum….goes with mukluks. Especially places where there’s no heat.
