choco fest trailer

The apparently annual celebration of chocolate in Gradisca d’Isonzo over in Italy had been a subject of our dinner conversations for quite a while. Last year’s visit to the gig never found its way to isoglossia, yet one event in particular is worth showing to the public (before and after the act of consumption of liquid chocolate).
Just in case, sorry for the trauma caused (no lavender panel this time).
Also, just in case, I was seriously pregnant then so excuse my disgusting cravings.

This year’s Chocofest coincided with our recent fixation on spicy flavor.

Hence, among our purchases you can find the following:

good-chocolate

Which, by the way, turned out to be awesome and is likely to indulge our decadent needs for another… erm… six days if we keep our consumption level at a bar an evening.

There is also this:

disappointing chocolate

Which, despite its alluring packaging, turned out to be buckwheat. Or worse than that.

The highlight of our trip to Gradisca, though, was something clearly remote from what one would expect.

Havin' fun 4

[It was the most excited he has been since Santacame! Santacame! eleven months ago, and I thought he might wet himself out of sheer hysteria -- JDS]

I guess I should finish now but I just can’t.
I still have to show you this horror.
One more reason why we do not intend to attempt having a daughter.

  2. I volleyed between stereotypical gender-specific toys when little. My prized toys were a Cher doll and a Tonka dump truck. My parents rolled with whatever I wanted. Well, right up until I desired a flail….

  3. Sadly, I bet there’s a t-shirt and/or a van and/or a tote bag out there somewhere with this same horrific airbrushed “Barbie” (quotes intentional).
