The week in screenshots, sort of
It was with great relief that I learned about the outcome of the Palinode’s back surgery. He’s one of my favorite web-writers, so I have a vested interest in his posture and comfort. Before learning that he’d snapped up a last-minute surgery spot, I was alarmed to see this Palinode Not Found screen:

Wishing you a speedy recovery from being cut open and fixed, Palinode!
I can’t remember how I came to be in a situation that caused me to see this, but I do recall that what led me capture it forever was the same crackle of cognitive dissonance that brought out Erik’s comment on it in our Flickr stream:

Speaking of jarring visuals, I rarely see my desktop or its random rotating wallpaper photos. I add pictures to the folder from time to time, but I’d forgotten all about this one [via kottke], so it was kind of startling today when I invoked the hot-corner that made it suddenly appear:

We ordered some Moo cards this week:

Very excited to get them.
Lots of strange stuff has been happening this week:

This Turing test made me feel a certain way:

And this one made me feel the opposite:

This made me feel a third way:

And finally, not a screenshot, but it does help to explain why, other than the inflamed throat and apparent sinus infection, my attitude sucks.

My attitude sucks too.

Plus. sinus infections don’t help with the whole “attitude” thing.

Talk about a buzz kill. I was in stitches over the final screen shots, and then had to read misanthrope man’s Attitudinal Angst. He’s a good writer though. I liked his promotion article.
