Days off
Ambitious scaffolding project underway on the dome of Santa Maria della Salute.
Multivalent focusing issues aside, I really love this family portrait of Magda with her sons and parents
In addition to having her parents behold the Pearl of the Adriatic, there was another project in mind for our day-trip to Venice
Ike is getting to that age where he wants what he can’t have. Memo to ourselves: no more train trips with these two boys for quite some time.

Great pics. I was intrigued by the lighting of the last one, and went to your photostream, where I wasn’t surprised to find the inevitable with-flash version… as the technology gets better we get pickier–I hate that we aren’t technologically at the sweet spot where we can have it all. In all sizes, that is. If that makes any sense.

Only now did I notice the grip Ike has on Magda’s arm as he works to get to the food he can’t have.

You know Mr. Sgazzetti, I’m starting to get tired of reading the photo blurbs about how these two boys of yours are creating havoc with your and your lovely spouse’s nerves.
I mean, are you looking at the pictures, man?!? Your wife seems to have gotten even lovelier after giving birth to the two holy terrors. What’s up with that and what’s up with your unsupported kvetching?
Jus’ wonderin’.

SquamLoon: Thanks. I really loathe on-camera flash in all but daylight-fill situations, but as I’m too lazy to carry the remote flash around, I’d much rather take my chances with high ISO and slow shutters. The new camera with its shake reduction makes it way easier to take viable flash-free pictures in dank wine cellars. Thanks for noticing.
Jane: the GRIP is among the worst features of this little creature these days. It is relentless, pinchy, and fierce.
Darko: I agree entirely about my bride’s loveliness, and she’s also gotten about three times more kick-ass in non-ornamental areas. I also concede that we bitch more than is becoming, but really, they are KILLING US.
