  1. The setup time and planning for such a shot is what’s most impressive. Two thumbs up.

    The question is, how’d you get Alek to hold his piece? Is that entirely his gripping strength?

    How many takes did this require?

  2. Yes, setup and planning were problematic. Coordinating the shoot so that it was convenient for all participants was a trememdous challenge.

    Alek’s hold on the punchline is one-third tenacious baby grip (honed on chest hair, incidentally), one-third invisible support from his mother, and one-third special effects.

  6. Gwynne: you’d be surprised (as are we) at the random variations in what Adam is and is not willing to do. In this case, the problem was getting him to wait for the session once he learned which sign was his — he ended up falling asleep clutching it a few minutes later, an event which sadly was not photographed, and remains fond of it.
