Disappointment, relief

“Astronomers are greatly disappointed when, having traveled halfway around the world to see an eclipse, clouds prevent a sight of it; and yet a sense of relief accompanies the disappointment.”
–Simon Newcomb
Saturday was cloudy, and we were disappointed that we’d miss the lunar eclipse. Also that Adam would miss seeing the full moon rise, something that still causes him to fibrillate with excitement. It wasn’t until well after sundown that the clouds suddenly dissipated, leaving the sky entirely clear.
Which was a relief.

Lovely shots. It was completely cloudy here of course.

I can’t believe that anything that makes Adam fibrillate would be a relief. What he needs is a good, stiff whiskey.
But, yes, lovely photos.
