Some lake somewhere
Since this site was founded, we’ve used it as a place for logging reports on Adam’s progress on a monthly basis, and last month’s was lamer than usual, due mainly to the welter of activity in the days just prior to Alek’s birth. I spent some time wondering about how to continue this tradition and record-keeping while accommodating the new arrival, and decided that since Adam was born on the 12
This is not that report.
After a very busy first month with Alek and Adam vying for our attention, this week I am in balmy Switzerland and busier than ever. The first report will be forthcoming when I return to Slovenia and things have settled down a little. Isoglossia.com apologizes for the delay. Thank you, boys, for your patience.

They just have to be different,
those doughty Swiss

And, pray tell, do all the girls really wear braids? Because that’s why I love the Swiss.
Things are getting pretty slack on this here blog. It’s like you’re, I dunno, busy or something.

Braids? You are thinking of Heidi, I suppose, and that girl from the cocoa packet, perhaps?
Anecdotally, I cannot say that I observed any more braids per capita in Switzerland than elsewhere, much to your disappointment, no doubt.
However, I did see that the range of unnatural hair shades known collectively as “Balkan Red” seems to be growing in popularity in the Confoederatio Helvetica.
And what with Carnevale and all, yesterday I saw a little girl done up as Pippi Longstocking, which neatly combined the two.
And while I did not sample any cheese nor cocoa, I did have a pretty good Panang curry and a fair amount of vinho verde.

Hmmmmmmm, think I know that “Balkan red”. Was quite popular in the Netherlands when I left a year ago. Might still be for all I know. At Carnival in the Netherlands it was usual to see the BIG girls done up as Pippi Longstocking.
