Things I suck at: first in a series, no doubt

I’ve come from a going-away party for a departing colleague, getting the post-party debriefing…
Me: Honey, you know what I really suck at? Making small talk.
Magda: You don’t need small talk. You’ve got a wife.

  1. I used to think I was the only person on the entire planet who couldn’t make small talk. Now I know there are at least two of us.

I don’t know if I have really mentioned this before, but Magda is awesome.

  2. Oh, don’t be so hard on yourself! Lots of your talk is small!

    (What?)

    In a good way!

  4. Dear Mr Sgazzetti,
A finely tuned post. As a fellow “30-day plan”er, I found it inspiring, which was the mood I needed to be in if I was ever to make it through this day. Hope you don’t mind my being out there on your tailwind? I hope to return the favor within the next 27 days.

  5. Draft away, Darko, and no need to return the favor. As I understand it, the only rule here is “Post every day”. I intend to do it, but don’t consider it cheating if brevity creeps in now and then.

  6. Oh, brevity is the soul of wit, is it not? Or, perhaps put another way, “some days it’s just not worth knawing through the leather straps”. (Can’t recall who said either, but it wasn’t me.)

It’s just to post every day, right? I mean, you could just put on oven mitts and mash your hands all over the keyboard and it would still count.

(But I like it better when you post charming exchanges with your lovely wife.)
