BlogBot entry 002 — Linky goodness
If you read the above title (and indeed the entire entry) in a robot voice you will have a marginally better day.
This is the BlogBot with the first of several automated entries directed by my masters, who are taking a few days off on the coast of Spain. They will return following the posting of a picture of dogs playing poker.
To divert yourself from the wrenching gap left in your life by their temporary absence, please direct your browser of choice to the sites of Schmutzie and her S.O., Palinode aka ‘The Fiery One’.
WARNINGWARNINGWARNING:
THESE SITES CONTAIN CONTENT WHICH THE BLOGBOT HAS DETERMINED TO BE CANADIAN
That is all. Have a nice day.

BlogBot entry 001 — Linky goodness
If you read the above title (and indeed the entire entry) in a robot voice you will have a marginally better day.
This is the BlogBot with the third of several automated entries directed by my masters, who are taking a few days off on the coast of Spain. They will return following the posting of a picture of dogs playing poker.
As a sop to the fact that you are reading this instead of shopping for a new computer in Barcelona, the BlogBot has randomly selected the following link for your entertainment solenoids synapses:
Banterist
WARNINGWARNINGWARNING:
THIS SITE PROVIDES PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL WHICH THE BLOGBOT HAS DETECTED TO BE UNGRAMMATICABLE
That is all. Have a nice day.

Heat of the hiatus
“Outwith the walls of Barcelona”

(Photo, I forgot to say originally, taken by E. Sorry about that.)
We couldn’t stand it any longer* and have decamped the isogloss for the coast of Catalunya. We won’t be gone long and will leave the BlogBot in charge. If he’s obedient you’ll be able to see a link to something we consider click-worthy every day or so. When you see (more) dogs playing poker, it means we’re on our way back and will resume our regular lethargic pace of summer non-vacation posting shortly. Thanks for coming, and stay cool.

Complaining is what we do best
Magda observed recently that much as she loves winter, she’ll always bitch about the cold. The converse holds true with the arrival of summer. We moan about how long it takes to arrive and then redouble our complaining once we remember that summer = hot. Today’s window-thermo-view:

What can we do? Not much it turns out, but we’re doing our best to cope. For example, with morning ice cream:

Adam’s facial expression seems to say, “what the Malkovitch are you feeding me, woman?” (Answer: limona sladoled).
Magda took this picture at the beginning of the heat, before we realized this was a ‘wave’. We took a walk to the Soča River to see if it was any cooler down there (it wasn’t):

This tore it. As if we weren’t already cranky enough from the varnish-like coatings no number of showers seem able to wash off our bodies, our internet connection was being continually interrupted. This had a serious impact on our ability to do anything to mitigate the heat-related crankiness, for example, streaming zefrank’s ‘the show’ (q.v.), Skyping family or the Regent Street Apple store, or uploading pictures of our cable modem masquerading as a beer. I noticed that it was running remarkably hot, and took steps to correct it. Our high-tech solution actually fixed the problem. That’s a genuine Rubber Maid Blue Ice® pack, an indispensable element in your networking toolbox.
Other methods of staying sane are less imaginative:

Adam finds the best seat in the house:

How hot is it where you are? What are you doing about it? Have you killed anyone yet?
