He doesn’t even scream now when we oil him

Adam has been going through some sort of personality sea-change lately. It began while the Dortmund family was visiting and seems to be continuing. He is becoming more placid and happy and easier to deal with on almost every level. To contribute to this, yesterday we bought him one of those bouncy baby-holders. Ležalnik in Slovene, which I am pretty sure is the same word used for a sunning chair, and it does sort of look like Adam could enjoy lying on it in the sun with a mojito and some Ray-Bans®. We had heard great things about these devices from all kinds of people and we were not disappointed. Immediately upon plopping him into it he began gurgling and jouncing away, infinitely entertained. We love this kid. It is amusing and a little bit pathetic how easily we can entertain each other by holding up tiny outfits with “Little Safari” embroidered on them. Shopping for baby gear has become our great joy, to the point where it almost feels like a vice. Yesterday we constructed our entire day around looking for new stuff for him, mainly because he is at a transitional stage and is quickly outgrowing his clothes. First we drove across the isogloss to Smart, a clothing shop in Gorizia, where we found that they had lots of stuff too small or too big for him, but finally managed to locate a couple of suit-sets suitable for a 68-cm-long baby. Then we came back to the newer version of Gorica and went into every baby-related shop we could find. It seemed that everywhere we went they were hiding the 68s from us. Eventually we found enough things, but he won’t be as stylishly tricked out as he was during his first three months, when he had a wardrobe the size of J Lo’s.
